Up to 12 browser-readable images.

Mobile processing guidance

On mobile, start with 2-4 smaller images before building larger collages or grids.

File limit

Up to 12 images; each file should stay under 25MB.

Low-memory risk

Canvas-based image operations can fail when pixel dimensions, file count, or browser memory are too high.

Retry path

If generation fails, retry with fewer images, smaller dimensions, JPG/WebP output, or lower quality.

Quick answer

Use Image Collage Maker to combine several images into one clean grid.

It is designed for lightweight comparison panels and publishing previews, not complex design editing.

Fixed-cell collage method
The browser creates a PNG canvas from 420px square cells separated by 24px gaps.
Each source is scaled with a cover calculation and center-cropped, so no cell has empty letterboxing.
Columns can be set from 1 to 6; row count is the image count divided by columns and rounded up.
Output width = columns x 420 + (columns + 1) x 24; an incomplete last row leaves background-colored space.
Example, Assumption, and Limitation
Use the result as a practical estimate or transformation, then confirm edge cases for critical work.

Before and after

Choose two images and two columns to make a 912 x 468 side-by-side PNG, including 24px outer and inner gaps.

Four-image panel

Choose four images and two columns to make a 912 x 912 PNG with four center-cropped square cells.

Crop limit

Portrait and landscape sources are center-cropped to fill each square; use Image Cropper first when the subject must stay in a specific position.

Common mistakes to avoid
These checks help prevent bad outputs, failed exports, and confusing results.

Mixing unrelated ratios

Very different image ratios may crop important details.

Too many images

Large collages become hard to read on mobile.

Skipping compression

Collage exports can be large; compress the final image before publishing.

Different from Grid Maker

Collage Maker combines multiple sources into square cells. Grid Maker keeps one image intact and draws guide lines over it.

Last-row behavior

If the image count does not fill the selected number of columns, the remaining cells in the last row show the chosen background color.

Privacy and memory limits

The current implementation decodes the selected images in browser memory. It accepts at most 12 files and rejects any individual file over 25MB.

Frequently asked questions
How does Image Collage Maker fit different aspect ratios?

Every source is scaled to cover a 420px square cell and center-cropped. This fills the cell but can remove content near the edges.

How large is the exported collage?

Each cell is 420px square with 24px gaps. Width depends on the selected columns, and height depends on the required number of rows.

How is this different from Image Grid Maker?

Collage Maker combines multiple images into one composite PNG. Grid Maker accepts one image and adds visible guide lines without creating separate cells.

Do the selected images leave my browser?

The current public implementation decodes and combines them with browser-side canvas APIs. Avoid sensitive files unless you have reviewed the implementation and your device requirements.
